HOW TO BEGIN
Start with a conversation.
Contact the church office to discuss your ministry involvement, the 2.5 years of elective courses required before entry, and the four-year Bible institute that follows.
- Connect with the office. Ask for the current registration form, deadline, fees, and class schedule.
- Review your preparation. Discuss the Next Steps classes, discipleship, church involvement, and ministry recommendation.
- Complete registration. Submit the school’s application and required fee according to the office’s instructions.
THE LEARNING RHYTHM
2.5 years of electives.
Then four years of institute.
Students begin with 2.5 years of elective courses and then enter the four-year Bible institute. Class days and times vary by course and term.
Current class dates, meeting times, and any alternative attendance arrangements are available from the office.

Tuition & registration
The office provides fee and registration information for the elective courses and the four-year Bible institute. The full sequence begins with 2.5 years of elective courses before institute entry.
Books & course materials
Ask the office which notebooks, study sheets, textbooks, and workbooks are required for your courses and which costs are included in tuition.
PREPARATION & PARTICIPATION
A commitment to
learning and serving.
Students prepare for entry through 2.5 years of elective courses and maintain these ongoing commitments to church life and ministry. The office can explain how the requirements apply to your enrollment.
- Be a commissioned discipler, actively discipling or seeking to make a disciple.
- Participate in a service or teaching ministry of Greentown Baptist Church.
- Be a faithfully attending, tithing, giving, covenant member of the church.
- Receive a recommendation from the leader of the ministry in which you serve.
- Complete the five Next Steps classes and retain your personal notes.
- Pay required fees on time and participate in at least one mission trip during the four-year program.

How to Study the Bible; Biblical Relationships; The Character Qualities of a Man or Woman of God; Walking with God; and Church History.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you enroll.
Do I have to wait for year one?
After completing the 2.5 years of elective courses required for entry, students may join the rotating curriculum and continue until all four years are completed. Contact the office for enrollment dates.
What do graduates receive?
Students who complete the required courses and work receive a completion diploma at a graduation ceremony. GBI does not promise professional status or a ministry appointment.
Can my studies count toward another school’s program?
See the articulation page for GBI’s agreement with Andersonville Theological Seminary. The receiving institution determines admission, evaluation, and degree requirements.
